Scenes From The Weekend

"Ten times a day something happens to me like this--some strengthening throb of amazement--some good, sweet, empathic ping and swell. This is the first, the wildest and the wisest thing I know: that the soul exists and it is built entirely out of attentiveness." -Mary Oliver

Those words lingered around me all weekend. There was a lot of rain--buckets worth--but plenty of sunshine, too. Time with the ducks, the trees, the skies. A movie at the local cinema, some writing, a clean house, and crepes for Saturday brunch. We attended an intimate wedding in the city on Sunday. Round the room dancing, raucous laughter, delicious food and drink.

I feel full.

How are you?

  1. I'm good, thanks :)

Your weekend sounds heavenly. How did you like The Help? I'm really hoping to see it this week sometime, even if I have to go by myself!

  2. love all the flowers! how was the help? i'm not usually a fan of seeing the movie of a book i loved so much. but i might cave for this one.

  3. What an absolutely perfect weekend! I still feel a little scattered, trying to round up replacements for all my credit cards and picking out a new wallet, but the weekend was just what I needed!

    xoxox, Lena

  4. gorgeous girl, what did you think of the help??

  5. Sitting here catching up on all of your posts! And um, you are adorable. Yay for weekends that leave you feeling so content.

  6. I'm absolutely pining for a good Sunday brunch. It's a bit sad but I can't remember the last time I had a really indulgent breakfast. A sin, no? And please do tell where those woods are. I'd love to spend my afternoon there.

(P.S. For some reason, your last four posts haven't been coming in regularly on Google Reader. They all arrived this morning in one big batch, which is why I'm only catching up now.)

  7. oh that does sound like a great weekend. I feel like I've been too caught up in what needs to get done, than enjoying what I'm doing this very moment. Thanks for the beautiful post.

  8. for everyone who asked, I loved "the help." thought it was well-done and closely mirrored the major plot points of the book. definitely recommended!

  9. I love that duck photo.. so many of them! Yesterday I went swimming at the river again and had a few visitors as well, but not nearly as much as you.

You're so pretty, Kayla. Your Tiho is a lucky man! ;)

Your thoughts always bring a smile to my face. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave them.
