Strawberry Fields Forever

Excuse the title cheese, but put me in a field surrounded by the tiniest, sweetest, most magnificent variety of my favorite fruit in the entire world, and it's bound to happen.

I could have rolled a million somersaults through those fields, let me tell you. We picked two baskets worth and somehow refrained from polishing them off until we returned home. Once there, I promptly began researching recipes, where I found this treasure trove and got busy. We froze half of the loot to preserve and enjoy later in smoothies and yet-to-be-determined treats.

Now? I have ants in my pants waiting for all of the other summer fruit picking. Blueberries! Peaches! Blackberries! Raspberries! Oh my.

P.S. We went to Sussex County Strawberry Farm in Northwestern New Jersey: consider this a glowing recommendation.

P.P.S. I almost didn't include that picture of me because it's so Boom! My face!, buuuut, I think it does a good job showcasing the strawberry gleam in my eye. It reminds me of this similar look from Paris last summer.
