New York Summer: The List

New York City is bursting at the seams with awesome stuff to do in the summer. I always feel like the season passes and I'm left blinking stupidly in its wake. So, this year, my sister and I decided to show our city the love and attention she deserves (and also spend some quality time together).

Behold, our NYC Summer list! Several of these are old favorites but many are things I've never done in my eight years here. We'll try to tackle them all, but if not, there's always next summer, right? Links provided for further details & specifics:

Kayaking on the Hudson river (free!);
Bastille Day celebration on 60th street;
Visit every single spot on this NY Times list: Best Coffee in NYC;
Outdoor movie screening in Bryant Park (free!)
Brooklyn Heights Promenade (carousel, ice cream factory) + East River ferry ride back;

Hudson River sunset sail;
Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governors Island;
Shakespeare in the Park (free!)
Top of the rock;

  1. Hey girl!
    Big news on my side of the ocean! It turns out I may be heading your way (NY) this autumn. Just in time for Tiho's (and mine) Bday! :) sooo I was wondering what can I do in NYC in October. I am also looking for a place to stay! If you can advise on that tooo, it' will be great! I might prefer to stay somewhere close to your place (just to fight a bit the overwhelming-ness of NYC) :). And it will probably be cheaper, right?
    Anyhow, I have a ton of things to learn about NYC! And since it's my first trip to the US altogether, I am thoroughly excited!
    Do you have an autumn list to share? (and also some free time to spare for me) :) :) :) I would love to see you guys (probably I'll stay for a whole week). So I am hoping you'll both have sometime for me.

  6. I'm so glad you made this list! You've given me so many ideas for my trips into the city. I just wish I were there on some Thursday night so I could see one of those SyFy movies (love me some science fiction).
