Give & Take

It's been an adjustment settling into the (busy) routine of a new school year, mostly because I've severely cut back on almost all social media outlets due to lack of time. I wish I knew how to spin the clock hands in my favor, but for now, I am grateful for my steadily improving health (goodbye nasty cold and laryngitis!) and falling quick in love with the sweetest batch of three-year-olds ever. I have a feeling we're going to have the most splendid year together.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. It's a long one for me, which is such a treat.
Now, a few fun things:

This is exactly how I feel about facebook, which is probably why I don't log on too often.
A History of New York in 50 Objects. Absolutely fascinating.
I can't get enough of this hilarious site.
You're Already Real.
Adorable art print.

  1. Glad you're feeling better, enjoy the long weekend! I agree with you and the writer about FB, great article.

  2. Ok, I am all set on the track to happiness! Have a great weekend, Kayla!!

  3. That piece about Facebook is pitch perfect, and woefully melancholy. Maybe it's time to remove the app...

    Have a wonderful weekend, darling!

  4. Great shots, Kayla! Especially that first one... wow!

I've already opened up your shared links to bookmark and look at asap. Especially interested in the facebook and huffpost articles.

I wish you an aaaamazing school year :)

    1. Thanks, Eva! One of my favorite things about this time of year is catching the sunrise every morning.

  5. So pleased that you are a) feeling better and b) liking your new class!

P.S. Love the sun's rays in that top shot.

  6. I followed that link to the Facebook article. Loved it. Everything she said was so true.

I've got a three day weekend, too, and I am SO glad! Teaching grade 1 four days a week, with no library time to break things up, is kicking my ass! I could sleep all weekend, I'm sure. But I'll be too busy soaking up the sun and going to the fall fair and baking a blackberry pie {hello, gorgeous new KitchenAid mixer!} Oh, and planning next week's lessons, of course.

    1. Sounds like a perfect weekend, E! (I'll also be planning/researching for October lessons...).

Your thoughts always bring a smile to my face. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave them.
