Scenes From The Weekend

I channeled my inner eighty-year-old this weekend. What was supposed to be a quick catnap on Friday evening became fourteen hours of straight sleep (beginning at 7:30 PM, mind you). That fed into an extraordinarily lazy morning, in which we ate eggs and toast in bed before finally getting ourselves showered and out of the house to run errands at 3:00 PM (where new shoes, coats and mittens were acquired, yay!).

We countered the sloth-like behavior with a shoot in the city and subsequent early wake-up call on Sunday. Afterwards, we strolled fifteen blocks downtown, became entangled with the Veterans' Day Parade marching up Fifth, and indulged a calorie-laden outdoor lunch at Shake Shack.

I've made peace with the fact that it is once again Monday morning. All is well, despite the growing laundry pile, unchecked task list, and knowledge that it is unlikely I will see the sun for more than 30 minutes today.

Who's refilling my coffee cup?
